Wittra Networks AB is proud to announce its participation in a new research and innovation project funded by Vinnova, Sweden’s innovation agency, aiming to develop next-generation industrial positioning of assets and wireless connectivity solutions powered by 6G technology. The project runs from November 2025 to April 2027 and brings together leading Swedish industry and research partners.
The project responds to the growing need for accurate, reliable positioning and communication systems in industrial environments. By combining private 5G/6G networks with advanced positioning technologies and edge computing, the consortium will work towards solutions that deliver decimeter-level accuracy, low latency, and secure, scalable infrastructure tailored for manufacturing and logistics sectors.
As an established provider of wireless IoT and positioning solutions, Wittra’s involvement strengthens the project’s real-world focus and industry impact. Wittra’s role includes leading practical validation activities and supporting the development of secure systems and user-friendly interfaces to ensure industry readiness.
By partnering with companies like Atlas Copco, Ericsson, Fiskarheden, Reply, Radtonics, and key research bodies like RISE and Chredder Hub from the UK, Wittra is helping move hybrid localization from concept to industrial reality—advancing smarter, safer, and more sustainable manufacturing through unified 6G-powered frameworks.
Financed under Vinnova’s 6G international research and innovation call, this project supports Sweden’s ambition to lead in the development and application of 6G technologies. The initiative fosters collaboration between companies, research institutes, and universities to accelerate innovation and competitiveness in wireless communication.
